Control Your Bed

  • The SleepIQ app uses WiFi or Bluetooth to connect to your bed. The app can control your Sleep Number setting, FlexFit™ base and features. The app does not connect with DualTemp™ Layers.  
  • WiFi control works when your bed is online. You can adjust your Sleep Number setting and FlexFit base when your bed is offline, but your bed needs to be online to turn Responsive Air (included with 360 smart mattresses) on or off.  
  • Bluetooth control works when you are near your bed. Bluetooth range reaches up to 8 feet. Make sure you have Bluetooth turned on in your phone or tablet settings. You do not need to connect to your bed in your device settings. See Device Compatibility Requirements for a full list of Bluetooth requirements.

Sleep Number® setting

FlexFit™ Base

  • Make sure you are near your base when making adjustments. Use the SleepIQ app to make micro-adjustments, go to your Favorite preset bed position or save a Favorite position. The SleepIQ app does not have a FlexFit Base timer. Sleep Number remotes have a FlexFit Base timer. 

Saving your Favorite FlexFit Base Position

  • Adjust the bed to your favorite position. Tap Save as Favorite.  
  • Sleep Number 360® Smart FlexFit™ Base owners: Once you’ve set your favorite FlexFit position, you can use the Sleep Number button on the side of your bed to easily adjust to Flat or your Favorite.
  • FlexTop and Split sizes allow each sleep partner to save their own Favorite settings. FlexTop sizes adjust the right and left head independently and the foot together. Split sizes adjust the right and left head and foot independently. 




FlexTop® King

Favorite adjusts both sides together if the foot is included. Head only Favorite adjusts the selected side. 

Flat returns foot to flat and head of selected side. 

Split King

Favorite adjusts right and left sides independently.

Flat adjusts right and left sides independently.

Troubleshooting Controlling Your Bed

If you're having problems controlling your bed with the SleepIQ app check your phone or tablet software version. Make sure your device is updated to the latest software version. Make sure the SleepIQ app is also updated to the latest version.

Turn Bluetooth off on your partner's phone or tablet and try your device again. Your bed can only connect to one Bluetooth controlled device at a time. 

Still having trouble? Follow these troubleshooting steps. 

  1. Log out of the SleepIQ app.
  2. Turn off your phone or tablet.
  3. Unplug your bed for 20 seconds.
  4. Plug back in and make sure the power cord is securely connected to a working outlet not operated by a switch.
  5. Turn your phone or tablet back on.
  6. Turn Bluetooth on in your device settings.
  7. Make sure your phone or tablet is connected to WiFi or data.
  8. Log back into the SleepIQ app.
  9. Make sure you are near your bed. Try controlling your bed again. If you're still experiencing error messages, please contact us for help fixing the problem.
