Applies to Universal remotes (12-, 9-, and 5-button) for traditional Sleep Number beds purchased before 2017.

If options like Sleep Number, Bed Position, SleepIQ, or DualTemp are missing from your remote, your remote may need to be reset. If an option appears but is grayed out, first check that your bed components are plugged into a working outlet.

What this means

  • Silver bed remotes are designed to control your Sleep Number setting and FlexFit adjustable base.
  • DualTemp layers use a separate remote if not used with a Sleep Number® bed.
  • The Sleep Number app does not connect to the DualTemp layer.

Before you reset your remote

  • If Sleep Number, Bed Position, SleepIQ, or DualTemp is missing from the Home screen, reset your remote.
  • If one of these options is visible but grayed out, make sure the related bed component is plugged in securely and the outlet has power.
  • For the best experience, use your DualTemp remote for your DualTemp layer and your bed remote or the Sleep Number app for your Sleep Number setting and FlexFit base.

Reset your remote

Factory reset steps vary by remote type. See How to Pair your Remote and select the instructions for your product.
