Before You Start
Here’s what you can (and can’t) change:
You can:
- Delete sessions (like naps or incorrect data), for up to 7 days.
- Restore recently deleted sessions, for up to 7 days.
- Remove time from a sleep session.
You can’t currently:
- Manually change time to fall asleep.
- Add time outside of what the bed recorded.
- Merge two sessions into one.
- Edit sleep sessions less than 4 hours.
- Recalculate your circadian rhythm or timing.
These limits help keep your sleep data accurate.
Edit a Sleep Session
Use this when your bedtime or wake time looks wrong.
Steps:
- Select Sleep.
- Scroll through the dates or use the calendar to select the session you want to remove.
- Tap View Details under Sleep Session.
- Scroll down to Adjust Your Session.
- Select Edit Your Sleep Session.
- Drag the sliders to adjust your sleep start and end times.
- Select Save.
- Edit your sleep session again to go back to the original start and end times.
Tip: Editing works best for small adjustments. If times are far off, deleting the session may be more accurate.
Remove a Sleep Session (Example: Naps or Incorrect Data)
You may want to remove:
- Naps that affect averages.
- Time spent watching TV or relaxing in bed.
- Incorrect or partial recordings.
Steps:
- Select Sleep.
- Scroll through the dates or use the calendar to select the session you want to remove.
- Tap View Details under Sleep Session.
- Scroll down to Adjust Your Session.
- Select Remove Your Sleep Session.
- Tap Remove to confirm or cancel to exit without removing your sleep session.
The session is removed from your history and averages.
Restore a Deleted Sleep Session
Steps:
- Select Sleep.
- Scroll through the dates or use the calendar to select the session you want to restore.
- Select Restore Sleep Session
If you don’t see a restore option:
- The session may no longer be available.
- Or it may have been replaced by a new session.
Troubleshooting & Common Issues
“I can’t edit my sleep session”
Try this:
- Make sure your app is up to date.
- Close and reopen the app.
- Log out and back in.
If it still won’t save, contact support.
“The sliders won’t move or save”
- Try using a different device (if available).
- Check for screen zoom or display settings.
“My sleep times are incorrect”
This can happen if:
- You were resting, reading, or watching TV.
- Pets or another person were on the bed.
- You got up during the night.
- Your timezone is set incorrectly.
Best fix:
- Adjust the session if possible.
- Or delete the session if it’s significantly off.
“My nap is affecting my sleep score”
- Delete the nap session.
- This removes it from your averages.
“The bed didn’t record my sleep”
Check:
- Your bed is connected to Wi‑Fi.
- Your Sleep Number® app is logged in.
- You are assigned to the correct side of the bed.
If it continues:
- Restart your bed (power cycle).
- Contact support.
“It says I’m still in bed when I’m not”
Try:
- Restart the bed.
- Confirm no pets or objects are triggering sensors.
How Edits Affect Your Sleep Score
- Your Sleep score updates after you edit or delete a session.
- Removing naps or incorrect sessions can improve accuracy.
- Some factors (like “time to fall asleep”) cannot be edited.
- Editing your sleep session will not recalculate your circadian rhythm or timing.
