Quick Answer
If both DualTemp™ remotes control the same side or the same DualTemp™ layer, the remotes may be paired to the wrong DualTemp™ fan. In most cases, clearing the existing connections and resetting each remote resolves the issue.
Signs Your DualTemp™ Remotes Are Paired Incorrectly
This issue usually happens when both remotes are connected to the same fan or when one remote is connected to the wrong fan. Follow the steps below to clear the existing connections and pair each remote to the correct side.
You may be experiencing a pairing issue if:
- Both DualTemp™ remotes control the same side.
- One remote controls both DualTemp™ fans.
- A remote controls the wrong side of the bed.
- The second remote does not control its assigned fan.
Before You Start
- Work with one remote at a time.
- Keep the second remote nearby, but do not use it until Step 4.
- Make sure both DualTemp™ fans are connected to power.
Step 1: Remove Existing Connections From the First Remote
- Pick up the first DualTemp™ remote.
- Press and hold the Up and Down Arrow buttons until the System menu appears.
- Select Clear Bind Table.
- Select DualTemp™.
- Confirm you see the Binds Cleared message.
- Select Back to exit the menu.
Step 2: Test the Remote
Press the Power button.
If the first remote controls the other fan, continue to Step 3.
If the remote displays an ER message, check the power connections to your DualTemp™ fan before continuing, then continue to Step 3.
Step 3: Reset the First Remote
- Press and hold the up and down arrows for 5 seconds.
- Open the System menu.
- Select Factory Reset.
- Follow the prompts on the screen.
- Unplug and reconnect the DualTemp™ power cord when instructed.
- Follow the prompts to name the remote.
- The fan may turn on when the process is complete. This is normal.
Step 4: Remove Existing Connections From the Second Remote
- Set the first remote aside.
- Pick up the second remote.
- Open the System menu.
- Select Clear Bind Table.
- Select DualTemp™.
- Confirm you see the Binds Cleared message.
- Select Back to exit.
Step 5: Verify Each Remote Controls the Correct Side
Test both remotes.
- Left-side remote controls the left-side fan.
- Right-side remote controls the right-side fan.
- Each fan responds independently.
- No ER messages appear.
If both remotes now control the correct side and no ER messages appear, your DualTemp™ layer is ready to use.

Open the System menu, select Factory Reset, and follow the on-screen instructions. You may also be asked to unplug and reconnect the DualTemp™ power cord during the reset.
