DualTemp - E14 or E16 Error

We're sorry you're experiencing a connectivity problem. We can help fix this. First, let us know if your bed is a smart bed. If you're not sure, check the pump for LED lights. If you see lights on your pump, you have a Sleep Number smart bed.

Choose your bed

Select the bed that best matches what you own to see troubleshooting instructions.

Sleep Number Smart Bed

We've found it works best to use separate remotes for your bed and DualTemp layer. Follow this process to reset your bed remote.

Unplug your DualTemp fans and remove remote batteries

  1. Unplug your DualTemp heating and cooling fans.
  2. Remove the batteries from all remotes.
  3. Set aside your DualTemp remotes.
  4. Make sure your bed is plugged in to a grounded outlet not controlled by a switch. Keep the DualTemp fan unplugged.
  5. Make sure the power cord is firmly connected to the pump. In most smart beds, your pump is stored inside your base near the foot of the bed. Occasionally, the pump is under the bed on the floor.

Now we'll work with your bed remote.

Reset your bed remote

  1. If you two bed remotes, set the other one aside for now.
  2. Hold down the up arrow, down arrow, and Enter buttons until the remote asks you to reset to factory settings.
  3. Important: Press Skip when asked to unplug and plug in your right or only DualTemp fan.
  4. Follow the steps in the remote until you get to "Setup Complete."

Now we'll clear the binds on the remote we just reset.

Recommendation

We recommend using separate remotes for your bed and DualTemp layer. Please contact us to get a DualTemp remote per fan.

  1. Hold down the up and down arrow buttons until the remote opens the "Clear Bind Table."
  2. Select "Sleep Number."
  3. You should see a "Binds Cleared" message at the top of the screen, letting you know it was successful.
  4. If you have more than one bed remote, repeat the above process with the other remote.

Once you're done with the resets, it's time to set up your DualTemp remotes. This will vary depending on the DualTemp fan you have.
