Sleep Number is voluntarily recalling the foot warmers in certain Sleep Number 360® smart beds in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The foot warmers located under the mattress cover can short-circuit and overheat, posing a burn hazard. Read the full CPSC announcement here.
This recall applies only to customers who purchased an i7 or i10 Sleep Number 360 smart bed combined with a FlexFit 3 adjustable base from mid-April to mid-August 2017, or who were provided with a Sleep Number 360 smart bed and FlexFit adjustable base as part of a consumer research process.
Step 1 – Disable:
Out of an abundance of caution, we informed affected customers and urged them to immediately disable the foot warmer to prevent short-circuiting and overheating. If you were contacted but have not yet disabled the foot warmer, please do so immediately following the simple instructions posted at http://www.sleepnumber.com/disable. Following the instructions will eliminate the risk of the foot warmer short-circuiting and overheating. All other features of your Sleep Number 360 smart bed and FlexFit 3 adjustable base remain operational while the foot warmer is disabled.
Step 2 – Replace:
Customers affected by the recall will be provided with new replacement foot warmers. We will be calling affected customers to schedule a visit by an authorized technician to remove the recalled units and install the replacement units at no cost. Upon scheduling the technician, Sleep Number will send customers a package containing the new foot warmers and replacement components. Please leave the package unopened and intact. Do not attempt to install the replacement units yourself. If you have any questions, please call this toll-free number: 1-800-318-4432.
Thank you for your cooperation during this product recall process. Most importantly, we sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we replace the foot warmers and reinstate the full benefits of your Sleep Number bed.
