Applies to: Sleep Number® FlexFit™ adjustable smart base and Sleep Number 360® FlexFit™ adjustable smart base.
Before you begin
- You will need two people to complete setup.
- You will need your air chamber caps that were delivered with your bed. If you cannot locate them, you can order them from online or get them at your local Sleep Number store.
- For Sleep Number 360 FlexFit adjustable smart base only: you will need several towels to place in between the magnets when removing the mattress.

Sleep Number FlexFit adjustable smart base
- Inflate your air chambers to Sleep Number® setting 100 using the Sleep Number® app or smart remote.
- Unplug your base from its electrical outlet or surge protector.
- Disconnect the straps attaching the mattress to the base.
- Undo the connections attaching the mattress to the base located above the Favorite button at the side of the bed. All wires will be labeled.

FlexFit 3 only: RSO Wire (Foot warming connection)
- Sensor Strip wire (only on some models).
- Air chamber hose(s): Cap the chamber nozzle with your white air chamber caps.

Two people required: Remove the mattress and set aside in a clean area.
- Lift the decking panels up and slide toward the head of the base. They will bend up and stay in that position until you let them down. Apply pressure to secure the decking panels so they do not slide back into a flat position when working underneath the base.
- Disassemble the base. If you have a King size base, remove the head and foot rails and set aside the thumb screws/spacers.
- Disconnect and remove the Smart Control System (SCS) from frame.
- Sleeper Right Hose (Blue)
- Sleeper Left Hose (White)
- Left Side Wire Harness (Black)
- Right Side Wire Harness (White)
- Power Cord into SCS

Split bases only: Disconnect the left and right side of the base at the head of the bed.
- Place the base on its side rail to expose the underside. Flex out the decking panel for added stability.

Remove the standard legs by pushing the silver button and sliding the leg down. Repeat for remaining legs.

Install new FlexFit tall legs by pushing in the silver pin and rotating the leg a quarter turn.

Slide the leg up or down to your desired position. Rotate the leg until the pin catches in hole.
- Check legs to make sure they are set to the same height.
- Note: If you have hard floors, we recommend putting caps on your legs. If you have carpet, caps are not needed.
- Set the base right side up and reinstall the Smart Control System you previously disconnected.
- King size only: Reconnect the head and foot rails.
- Confirm the Smart Control System connections and wires are secured to the frame with Velcro straps.
- Connect all components into the Smart Control System.

- Power Cord into SCS
- After the Smart Control System is reconnected, carefully return the decking panels to the flat position.

Two people required: Place the mattress down on the base.
- Reconnect all wires attaching the mattress to the base.
- FlexFit 3 only: RSO wire (will be labeled)
- Sensor strip wire (only on some models)
- Air chamber hose(s): Remove the air chamber caps and connect to air chamber until you hear or feel them click into place.
- Reconnect straps located at the foot and then at the hip of your bed.
- Make sure the straps are not twisted or else they will not reach the receiver.

If you have a Split King: Split King models have four straps at the foot and two at the head of the bed.
- Stand on either side of the bed. Have one person manually lift the decking panel to access the strap snap receiver.
- Reach across to make the connection.
- Pull the black head strap attach tightly and snap into the receiver on the underside of the decking panel.
- Plug in the base power cord to a nearby electrical outlet or surge protector.
- Confirm the bed is connected to your smart remote or Sleep Number app.
- Reset your Sleep Number setting.
Sleep Number 360 FlexFit adjustable smart base
- Inflate your air chambers to Sleep Number setting 100 using the Sleep Number app or smart remote.
- Unplug your base from its electrical outlet or surge protector.
- Disconnect the magnets attaching the mattress to the base.

MAGNET WARNING: When a mattress is not attached to the base, such as when transported or serviced, persons with medical implants should stay a minimum of 3 feet away from the magnets.
- BEST PRACTICE: Place a towel between each magnet and receiver target as you detach them to keep the magnets separated.
- Use your thumbs to push up on the edge of the magnets connecting the smart mattress and the base to disconnect. Fold towels into thirds and place between the mattress and base to prevent reattachment.
- To minimize the risk of pinch injury, keep magnets away from each other and away from other metal objects.
- Strong magnetic fields can damage electronics, electronic/magnetic storage devices, AV equipment, bank/credit/debit cards, etc.

- Confirm all wires are secured to the frame with Velcro straps.
- Return the decking panels to the flat position.
- Connect the control box and Firmness Control System.

Two people required: Place the mattress down on the base. Position the mattress lightly so the magnets do not reconnect.
- Reconnect all wires attaching the mattress to the base.
- FlexFit 3 only: RSO wire (wire will be labeled).
- Sensor strip wire (only on some models).
- Air chamber hose(s): Remove air chamber caps and push in air hose until you hear or feel them click into place.
- Reattach the mattress to the base by aligning the magnets with the targets and carefully remove the towels.
- Plug in the base power cord to a nearby electrical outlet or surge protector.
- Confirm the bed is connected to your smart remote or Sleep Number app.
- Reset your Sleep Number setting.
