Error Code EX2 on a Traditional Sleep Number Bed

Applies to traditional Sleep Number beds with SleepIQ® Technology, typically purchased before 2017.

If you see Error Code EX2, your remote is not communicating with the SleepIQ® system. This issue is often caused by a loose SleepIQ processor and can usually be fixed in a few simple steps.

 

Most Likely Cause

  • The SleepIQ processor may be loose and needs to be firmly reconnected.

 

Before You Start

  • Make sure the pump is plugged into a working wall outlet.
  • Put a fresh battery in your remote.
  • Stay close to the bed with your remote while reconnecting.

 

How to Fix Error Code EX2

Try these steps to reconnect your remote to the SleepIQ® system:

  1. Open the door on the SleepIQ® Firmness Control System and press the SleepIQ processor in firmly to make sure it is fully seated.
  2. Unplug the control system, then plug it back in to restart the SleepIQ processor.
  3. Wait for the system to reconnect. When it is connected to the SleepIQ server, the pump will show five solid LED lights.
    • If your SleepIQ system was connected before, it should reconnect automatically after the restart.
    • It may take up to 10 minutes for the system to fully reboot.
