Core Control System Installation Instructions

Set up your Core Tech control system by connecting the pump, hoses, power cord, and remote. Follow these steps to get your bed ready to use.

Before You Start

Make sure you have the pump, remote, power cord, hoses, and 2 AA batteries nearby. Place the pump on the floor at the head of the bed before plugging it in.

Install the Pump and Remote

1. Unbox the pump, remote, and power cord.
2. Connect the hoses to the pump.
3. Connect the power cord to the pump.
4. Place the pump on the floor at the head of the bed.
5. Insert 2 AA batteries into the remote.
6. Plug the pump into a power outlet.
7. Follow the on-screen prompts to pair the remote.

How to Pair Your ComfortMode™ Remote

Your ComfortMode™ remote is pre-paired to your bed!

Just insert the batteries and start using your remote. It may take 5–10 seconds to automatically connect.

Before You Start

• Bed is plugged in and powered on.
• You are near the bed (within 5–10 feet).
• Remote has working batteries.

Set Up Your Remote (First Use)

1. Insert 3 AAA batteries (included).
2. Press any button to turn on the remote.
3. Wait 5–10 seconds for the remote to connect.

What you’ll see:

• “bt” on the display = the remote is searching for your bed.
• Connection will complete automatically when in range.

Tip: Stay within 8 feet of the bed during use for best connection

Pair an Additional Remote

(For remotes purchased separately)

To pair a new remote:

1. Press and hold UP + DOWN buttons for 5 seconds.
2. Release when the screen shows “P” (pairing mode).

Then:

1. Unplug your bed for 10 seconds.
2. Plug it back in.
3. Within 30 seconds, the remote will pair automatically.

Once paired, the remote will display your Sleep Number® setting.

Reconnect or Pair to a Different Bed

1. Press and hold UP + DOWN for 5 seconds until “P” appears.
2. Follow the pairing steps above.
