Sleep Number® Smart Remote
Applies to all Sleep Number smart bed models except the Sleep Number c1 smart bed.
Pair with an adjustable base
Make sure fresh AA batteries are inserted into the back of the remote before you start.
- Go to the “Settings” menu on your remote.
- Select “Pair Bed.”
- Locate the Favorite button on your bed (located on either side near the middle of the base).
- Press and hold the Favorite button for about 5 seconds until the light starts to blink blue, then release.
- Follow the prompts on the remote. The Bluetooth icon in the top left corner of the remote screen will go from blinking to solid when pairing is complete.
If remote says "No Smart Bed Found"
- Make sure the Favorite button is still blinking blue and press “Try Again” on the remote.
- If the remote is unable to pair after 3 attempts, remove the batteries from your remote for 10 seconds, re-insert them, and try the pairing process again.
Pair with an integrated base or mattress only
Make sure fresh AA batteries are inserted into the back of the remote before you start.
- Go to the “Settings” menu on your remote.
- Select “Pair Bed.”
- Find the “Pair” button on the back of your pump. It is to the right of the white air hose.
- Press and hold “Pair” for about five seconds until the 2nd LED light starts to blink, then release.
- Follow the prompts on the remote. The Bluetooth icon in the top left corner of the remote screen will go from blinking to solid when pairing is complete.
If remote says "No Smart Bed Found"
- Make sure the Favorite button is still blinking blue and press “Try Again” on the remote.
- If the remote is unable to pair after 3 attempts, remove the batteries from your remote for 10 seconds, re-insert them, and try the pairing process again.
360 Remotes
360 FlexFit™ adjustable base and 360 smart bed/c1 smart bed
- New remotes: Insert fresh AA batteries and get started.
- Resetting a remote: Press and hold the up arrow, down arrow, and enter until on the Home screen until the "Factory Reset" screen comes up. Select "Yes" to reset your remote to factory settings.
- Select "No" when asked if this is a second or replacement remote.
- Select "Yes" when asked if your bed has a Sleep Number button at the hip.
- Find the Sleep Number button near the middle of the base on the side.
- Press and hold the Sleep Number button for about 10 seconds until it starts blinking. Select "Continue."
- When prompted, unplug and plug in the FlexFit Control system. Do not unplug your bed. Select "Continue."
- Press "Skip" when asked to unplug and plug in your DualTemp engine.
- If you see a blue screen with a Sleep Server error, press "Enter" twice to bypass the error. This means your bed isn't connected to Wi-Fi. Follow instructions for getting your bed online after setting up your remote.
- Select "No" when asked to name your remote. Follow "How to Rename Your Remote" to name each side of your bed, if you'd like to.
- Follow the instructions until you see "Set Up Complete!"
360 FlexFit adjustable base only
- Unplug your FlexFit base from its wall outlet.
- New remotes: Insert fresh AA batteries and get started.
- Resetting a remote: Press and hold the up arrow, down arrow, and enter until on the Home screen until the "Factory Reset" screen comes up. Select "Yes" to reset your remote to factory settings.
- Select "No" when asked if this is a second or replacement remote.
- Select "Yes" when asked if your bed has a Sleep Number button at the hip.
- Find the Sleep Number button near the middle of the base on the side.
- Press and hold the Sleep Number button for about 10 seconds until it starts blinking. Select "Continue."
- When prompted, unplug and plug in the FlexFit Control system. Do not unplug your bed. Select "Continue."
- Press "Skip" when asked to unplug and plug in your DualTemp engine.
- Follow the instructions until you see "Set Up Complete!"
Non-adjustable bases or mattress only
- New remotes: Insert fresh AA batteries and get started.
- Resetting a remote: Press and hold the up arrow, down arrow, and enter until on the Home screen until the "Factory Reset" screen comes up. Select "Yes" to reset your remote to factory settings.
- Select "No" when asked if this is a second or replacement remote.
- Select "No" when asked if your bed has a Sleep Number button at the hip.
- When prompted, unplug and plug in the Firmness Control system. Select "Continue."
- Press "Skip" when asked to unplug your FlexFit Control system. This is only for adjustable bases.
- Press "Skip" when asked to unplug and plug in your DualTemp engine.
- If you see a blue screen with a Sleep Server error, press "Enter" twice to bypass the error. This means your bed isn't connected to Wi-Fi. Follow instructions for getting your bed online after setting up your remote.
- Select "No" when asked to name your remote. Follow "How to Rename Your Remote" to name each side of your bed, if you'd like to.

Traditional Sleep Number Remotes
Universal Remotes
- New remotes: Insert fresh AA batteries and get started.
- Resetting a remote: Press and hold the up arrow, down arrow, and enter until on the Home screen until the “Factory Reset” screens come up. Select “Yes” to reset your remote to factory settings.
- Select “No” when asked if this is a second or replacement remote.
- Unplug and plug in your Firmness Control system when prompted.
- Select “Continue.”
- Unplug and plug in your FlexFit Control system. Select “Skip” if you don’t have an adjustable base.
- Note: Only FlexFit 1, 2, and 3 bases sold in 2012 or later can pair with this remote. Select “Skip” if you’ve always used a separate remote for your mattress and adjustable base.
- Press “Skip” when asked to unplug and plug in your right DualTemp engine.
- If you see a blue screen with a Sleep Server error, press “Enter” to bypass the error.
- If you get an E13 error, press “Enter” to bypass the error.
- Select “No” when asked to name your remote. Follow “How to Rename Your Remote” to name each side of your bed, if you’d like.
- Follow the prompts until you see a screen saying, “Set Up Complete!”
Advanced Series Remotes
- Remove the batteries from the remote.
- Unplug and plug in your Firmness Control system.
- Within 60 seconds, insert two AA batteries.
- Pick up the remote or press a button to wake up the remote.
- Follow the instructions on the remote to finish pairing.
Innovation Series Remotes
- Insert a 9-volt battery in your remote.
- Unplug and plug in your Firmness Control system.
- Within 60 seconds, press the “R” button. If there is no “R” button, press the up arrow.
DualTemp Layer Remotes
3 Button Remote
Set up a 3 button DualTemp remote
- Set one remote next to each fan.
- Unplug both DualTemp fans.
- Insert two AA batteries into the back of the first remote.
- Within 60 seconds, plug in the first fan and follow the prompts on the remote.
- Note: If the remote fails to sync, make sure the power cord is securely connected to the fan, power supply brick, and the wall outlet. Try steps 2-4 again.
- Wait 5 minutes before pairing the second remote and fan.
- Repeat steps 3-4 on the second side.
Reset a 3 button DualTemp remote
- Remove the battery cover on the back of the remote and take the batteries out. Keep the batteries close by.
- Unplug and plug in the DualTemp fan power cord.
- Within 60 seconds, put the batteries back in the remote. The positive side should be facing the bottom of the remote when inserted.
- Follow the remote instructions to name your remote.
It is normal for the fan to turn on when complete. If the remote screen is blank, make sure the batteries are inserted correctly and repeat the instructions. Replace the batteries if the screen is still blank.
5 button Remote
Set up a 5 button DualTemp remote
- Set one remote next to each fan.
- Unplug both DualTemp fans.
- Insert two AA batteries into the back of the first remote.
- Within 60 seconds, plug in the first fan and follow the prompts on the remote.
- Note: If the remote fails to sync, make sure the power cord is securely connected to the fan, power supply brick, and the wall outlet. Try steps 2-4 again.
- Wait 5 minutes before pairing the second remote and fan.
- Repeat steps 3-4 on the second side.
Reset a 5 button DualTemp remote
The remote will either open the “System” menu or switch to “Rename Remote.”
From the "System" menu
- Start on the “System” menu. If your remote fell asleep, press and hold the up and down arrows to re-open the “System” menu.
- Select “Factory Reset.”
- Unplug and plug in the DualTemp power cord as directed on the remote screen.
- Follow the instructions to name your remote.
- The fan will turn on when complete.
Rename Remote
- Remove the battery cover on the back of the remote and take the batteries out. Keep the batteries close by.
- Unplug and plug in the DualTemp fan power cord.
- Within 60 seconds, put the batteries back in the remote. The positive side should be facing the bottom of the remote when inserted.
- Follow the remote instructions to name your remote.
It is normal for the fan to turn on when complete. If the remote screen is blank, make sure the batteries are inserted correctly and repeat the instructions. Replace the batteries if the screen is still blank.
FlexFit and FlexFit+
- Make sure your adjustable base is plugged in.
- Press and release the “Learn” button on the side of your adjustable base power box.
- A red light will appear on the power box.
- At the same time, press and hold the “Raise Head” and “Flat” buttons on your remote for 10 seconds until the display blinks and the LED on the power box starts flashing.
- Release the remote buttons once the power box LED starts flashing slowly, and then rapidly.
