Doorstep Delivery: Assembling your FlexFit Adjustable Base
Step 1: Unbox the Adjustable Base
- Stand the base upright on the side rail edges.
- Flex the head panels slightly for stability.
- Cut and remove the orange zip ties.
- Do not cut or damage black wire bundles.
- If included, remove head and foot rails and set them aside (they may be wedged between the decking panel and frame).
Step 2: Install and adjust the legs
- With one person stabilizing the base, insert each leg into the frame receiver.
- Press the metal button, slide the leg to your preferred height, and twist to lock.
- Do not remove the clear spacer tape—it ensures a snug fit.
- Remove rubber caps if placing the base on carpet.
- Lean the base onto its legs and confirm all legs are set to the same height.
Tip: Lower leg heights may reduce stability—have a partner support the base while checking.
Step 3: Secure and Inspect Under-Base Connections
- While the base is on its side, inspect all under‑base connections.
- Route mattress hoses and cables through the designated openings on each side.
- Connection layouts may vary depending on your control system type.
Step 4: Position the base
- Lower the base into its final location.
- Use the built‑in handle openings to adjust placement.
- Ensure mattress connection points at each hip remain accessible.
Step 5: Install head and foot rails (if included)
Skip this step if your base did not come with rails.
- Remove protective plastic from siderails.
- Slide the head and foot rails into the grooves at each end.
- Secure rails using speed screws:
- 4 screws at the head
- 2 screws at the foot
Step 6: Route and secure hoses
- Route hoses along the base frame.
- Secure them using the built‑in clips.
- Align the white hose sticker with the side‑rail clips to avoid excess slack.
Step 7: Connect power
- Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Ensure the outlet is not controlled by a wall switch.
Step 8: Install base frame links
Skip this step if you do not have a King base
- Install frame links at both the head and foot of the bed.
- Hold deck panels up and align the links with frame openings.
- Snap securely into place.
Step 9: Install the control system
Important: Steps will vary depending on the type of pump you have.
Smart Control System
- Attach the bracket at the sleeper‑left foot of the base.
- Route the wire harness along the metal frame.
- Secure with Velcro straps.
Firmness Control System
- Place the system on the shelf at the sleeper‑left foot of the base.
Step 10: Complete wire and hose connections

- All FlexFit® models include a hose.

Step 1: Prepare the Mattress
- Inflate both sides of the mattress to 100.
- Disconnect hoses and attach white closure caps.
- Disconnect foot‑warming wires (if applicable).
- Detach the mattress:
- Magnet system: Follow safety guidance before disconnecting.
- Strap system: Unclip gray straps at hips and foot.
- Split King models include additional foot straps.
- Bag the mattress for transport.
- Disconnect and box the control system.
Step 2: Disassemble the Base
- Separate bases (King, Cal King, FlexTop™, Split King).
- Disconnect right‑side and left‑side cables.
- Remove frame links at head and foot.
- Detach hoses from the foot rail.
- Remove head and foot rails (if installed).
- Remove legs for easier doorway clearance.
