Moving your Sleep Number® bed? Choose the steps that match your move: repositioning the bed in the same room, transporting it to a new home or reconnecting it after the move.

Before You Move

Prepare Your Bed for Moving

Before disassembling your bed:

  • Take photos of your setup before disconnecting components.
  • Label hoses, cables and parts to simplify reassembly.
  • Gather moving supplies such as bags, tape and markers to organize hardware.

Protecting Components During the Move

To help prevent damage:

  • Place screws, brackets and small hardware in labeled bags.
  • Protect hoses from being pinched or bent.
  • Keep electronic components dry.
  • Avoid placing heavy items on top of mattress components, hoses or pumps.
  • Secure remote controls, power supplies and cables together.

How to Move Your Sleep Number® Bed Across the Room

If you're moving your bed within the same room, you do not need to fully disassemble it. Unplug the bed, cap the air chambers and remove the mattress before moving the base. If you have a king-size base, separate the two base sections and move each section individually.

How to Disassemble Your Sleep Number® Bed for Moving

For a move to a new home, follow the model-specific disassembly instructions for your mattress and base. Keep labeled parts, hoses, cables, remotes and power supplies together so they are easier to reconnect after the move.

If Your Bed Will Be Stored

If you are not setting up the bed immediately:

  • Store components in a clean, dry environment.
  • Avoid excessive heat, cold or moisture.
  • Avoid stacking heavy items on mattress components.
  • Keep electronic components protected from dust and water.

Reassembling Your Bed

Use the setup instructions for your mattress and base model to reassemble the bed. Reconnect the labeled hoses, cables, power supplies and other components before completing the checks in the next section.

After Moving: Reconnect and Verify Your Sleep Number® Bed

Reconnect Power and Verify Operation

Once your bed is assembled, complete these checks before using it:

  1. Reconnect power.
  2. Verify each side adjusts properly.
  3. Confirm the adjustable base responds, if applicable.
  4. Check that all hoses and connections are secure.
  5. Test favorite positions and presets.
  6. Confirm both sleepers can adjust their side of the bed.

What to Expect

Your bed may feel slightly different immediately after moving. Confirm that the mattress is aligned and all components are installed correctly, then return to your preferred Sleep Number® setting. Allow the bed time to settle before making larger comfort adjustments.

Sleep Number® Bed Not Connecting to Wi-Fi After Moving

If your Wi-Fi network changed:

  1. Open the Sleep Number® app.
  2. Follow the prompts to reconnect your bed.
  3. Confirm the bed appears online.
  4. Test firmness and base controls within the app.

The app cannot find your bed after moving.

What to Try
